Calio turns introspective, and cranks out a really sweet, mostly acoustic set. The title song and "Sugar Pill" in particular are really upbeat, almost Top-40ish sounding (maybe from early 70s top 40, that is). Calio´s voice sounds great, the songwriting is supple, and the instrumentation is all just perfect. If you made it to a dada show in the past year, you probably hear Joie performing "Morning Sickness" solo. The rest of this disc is just as good or better

Remember the days when you would buy an album and actually listen to the whole thing all the way through? Well this is one of those albums. Joie has an amazing sense of melody and the production by Rob Daiker, Joie and all those involved is really well done---nice layers and atmospheric touches to fill out the sound. The bottom line though, as with any great album is the songs.
